These evening portrait sessions {named Nicturna Sessions} were launched in 2018 to celebrate the beauty of females and in honor of my Mother, Odette.
My mother was raised in Mexico and has always been an inspiration to me when it came to natural remedies, understanding energy and embracing my spirituality.
She is here on earth today still sharing her bright light with other women.
These shoots are meant for females starting new chapters in their life or wanting to work with the magic of the moon.
WHY MOON DATES?
The MOON represents our ‘inner world’, our hidden emotions, desires, our shadow-self, fears and our dreams. It represents our feelings, our unconscious beliefs, the past and our yin or feminine goddess archetype. The Moon offers us the ability to feel, learn from the past and creatively unlock and express our essence. These dates have all been chosen for their spiritual meaning and power.
NEW MOON NIGHTS
These are the nights when the sun is shining on the dark side of the moon. The night skies are at their darkest with no moon light to shine in the dark therefore these evenings are the most sought after sessions with the chances of seeing the stars being the highest. Dark skies and no ambient moon light is needed to get photos with the stars and these are the best dates possible for those chances, weather permitting of course. New Moon nights are spiritually a great time to set intentions and and the beginning of something new. These nights are perfect to wish and dream. The perfect nights for manifesting.
FULL MOON NIGHTS
Full moon nights are very powerful. In nature even the animals and the plants are affected by full moon nights. The night seems not as scary with the bright moon light out. A full moon is when the sun and the moon completely oppose each other which can create tension making it the perfect evenings for amplified creativity and vision. These are very powerful nights to be out in nature in the dark. Spiritually these nights are when those new moon manifested dreams and wishes show signs of coming to life. These are the best nights to count your blessings and show your thanks.
EQUINOX & SOLSTICE DATES
Spring Equinox. Summer Solstice. Autumnal Equinox. Winter Solstice. These seasonal related dates are all when we officially enter a different season in life on earth. These nights are perfect to celebrate change and set intentions for our future. There is only 4 of these dates available per year making them very special just because of their rarity.
LUNAR ECLIPSE
These rare magical evenings are gifts from the cosmos. A Total Lunar Eclipse happens when the Earth’s shadow falls directly over the Full Moon. For a brief period, the Moon disappears and the night turns dark. The Moon has long been associated with the feminine and if we look at the Moon as a symbol for femininity- an energy that goes beyond gender, having this moment of shadow is almost like a rebirth of feminine energy. These are some of the most powerful evenings to be out in nature.
