WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY // DOCUMENTING LOVE IN EVERY LIGHT.
Be a guest at your own wedding.
Your wedding will be over in the blink of an eye.
Be with your people. Hug your family members. Eat the incredible meal you spent months planning. Stay on the dance floor for one more song. Sneak away to look at the stars outside.
The magic isn't in perfect photographs.
It's in the moments that become them.
I'll quietly find the light while you live every second of it.
15+ YEARS IN THE WEDDING INDUSTRY
Some things only time can teach
After 15 years and more than 300 weddings, I've learned that experience isn't measured by how many weddings went exactly to plan. It's measured by how you show up when they don't.
I've photographed weddings through the Calgary floods, worked destination weddings with food poisoning (3 times... yes, really), hobbled through a 12-hour wedding on a sprained ankle and navigated an Iceland wedding where the weather and the drive to the venue was absolutely wild. I've photographed ceremonies in hail, watched golf course sprinklers go off in the middle of a ceremony and learned that timelines rarely unfold exactly as planned.
Some of the most important moments I've been part of had nothing to do with my camera. They were the moments I put it down to hug a bride, hold a mother's hand or simply be there for someone who needed another human more than another photograph.
Losing my own mom in 2024 changed the way I photograph weddings. It reminded me just how rare it is to have everyone you love in one room and I don't take that for granted anymore.
I've learned not to fear the unexpected. Sometimes a little chaos has a funny way of reminding everyone what the day is really about. Years later, it's usually those moments //the hailstorm, the sprinklers, the rain-soaked hugs // that become the stories everyone laughs about around the dinner table.

A LIFELONG STUDENT OF LIGHT
How I work with lighting
Light is one of those things I could happily talk about for hours.
In fact... I do.
Every year I host Illuminate, my own photography retreat where I teach photographers how to understand light, especially in the conditions most people avoid. From candlelit receptions and mountain sunsets to nighttime portraits beneath the stars, helping photographers master light has become one of my greatest passions.
For years I've also been the photographer people call when the lighting feels impossible. Northern Lights proposals. Rainstorms. Dark reception halls. Concert stages lit by pyrotechnics.
But here's the thing...
My favourite light isn't always dramatic.
Sometimes it's the soft window light while you're getting ready. Sometimes it's your grandparents sitting quietly by the fireplace. Sometimes it's the way the last bit of evening sun slips through the trees just before dinner.
I let the light lead me throughout the day. I know when to embrace it naturally, when to shape it with flash and when to simply step back because the moment unfolding in front of me is already perfect.
And yes… I am always a fan of stepping out of your reception for a quick night shoot in the evening, no matter what the weather.
