Not your average Halloween wedding.
No orange pumpkins.
No horror theme.

Cody & Amanda gave me full creative trust on this one. Like… full permission to plan their entire night.
Every part of this evening was intentional from the ceremony time to the fire ritual, the food, the flowers, even the lighting (or lack of it).

We started with portraits just as the sun dipped into blue hour, but the real moment the one that still gives me goosebumps happened at 11:11 PM.

They stood at the fire and burned a dried bouquet created by a local Indigenous floral artist one that was made specifically for this exact time and evening.
Every bloom had meaning: citrus for new beginnings & cinnamon for protection.
They set intentions for their marriage.
They let go of what they didn’t want to carry forward.
And then, they burned it all.
It was wild and beautiful and calm and electric all at once.

Their ceremony was fully candlelit literally no lights allowed. Just rows of flames on the floor and the sound of their vows echoing through the space. I’m telling you, it was holy and haunted in the best possible way.
To top it off, they had a Top Chef Canada semi-finalist Alex Edmonson creating their private evening dinner who made black handmade pasta to match the moody aesthetic of the night. Like… come on.

TESTIMONIAL
Hello and congratulations to you on choosing a photographer,
I just wanted to reach out and share a little about our experience working with Sofia Katherine because if you’re considering her for your elopement, you’re already on the right path.
We had the privilege of doing three shoots with Sofia: engagement, night portraits, and our elopement. From the moment she walked into our lives, she brought a grounding, almost magical presence that helped us focus on what really mattered, us. My partner and I were navigating grief and chaos at the time, and Sofia somehow became an anchor without ever overstepping. She didn’t just photograph our wedding, she held space for it.
She led every shoot with confidence and grace, adapting with ease (even around a very muscular dog she wasn’t sure about!). She was calm when timelines slipped and always brought a joyful, professional energy. More than that, she said yes when we asked her to guide deeply personal moments like a burning ceremony without hesitation. She stepped in fully, intuitively, and with heart.
And the photos? We look at them all the time. They are raw, romantic, and full of soul. They captured a time when everything else in our world felt on fire but our love was protected, celebrated, and witnessed through her lens.
If you’re looking for a photographer who delivers not just stunning images, but a meaningful experience one that centers your story, your love, and your intentions Sofia is it. Truly. If you’ve met her already, you probably feel it too.
