I often get asked how I started night photography. Truth is, I was always that kid in the bookstore, tucked away in the horoscope and witchy sections with my Dad—completely fascinated by astrology, the stars, the moon, and the night sky.
I started convincing couples to let me take them out at night for their engagement sessions.
You know that feeling when you were a teenager, out late at night, like hey, we’re not supposed to be out this late? That thrill? That's kinda what a night shoot is like.
Then, there’s the moment we step into the night.
The world quiets // the sky stretches wide // and the dark isn’t empty—it’s alive.
A new moon night reveals a sky so full of stars, it feels endless.
Meteors streak across the blackness // the forest glows silver under the full moon // and if we’re lucky, the aurora dances above us, shifting and breathing like something out of a dream.
In places like Iceland, where the horizon melts into the cosmos // the night becomes something else entirely—something ancient // electric // infinite.
And in that space, with just you and the one you love // it’s like time slows.
