About our elopement:
They say that if something scares you, you should do it, get your heart racing. And I'd be lying if I said that going into this night I wasn't scared out of my mind about the nocturnal animals that thrive in these Alberta woods. I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't holding myself fully accountable for anything that could happen to these 8 humans (including myself) because it was my WILD idea to get married in the depths of a forest, in the Canadian Rockies, climbing through rough terrain to get to our waterfall...
PRESSURE.
After multiple brainstorming sessions with Sof, we just went for it. I wrote out my plan, what I felt was possible and what I knew would be a struggle. I came back to it various times. I contemplated even doing it because I knew a lot of people would be upset not to be there.. however, I was reassured that it was my day and I shouldn't let anything come in the way of the vision I had that became our vision.
Under the New Moon dark skies with a back drop of one of the most spectacular array of stars and Saturn shining bright, we trudged into the woods with small lanterns to be met by Sof and her assistant.
Without the help from Sof and her eye for detail and respect of the world (both physical and spiritual) this night wouldn't of been possible. Her attention to detail, awareness of risk and willingness to go the extra mile for those she's working with is unlike any other. There's no one who will do it better. Day, night, Sof is your person.

FAQ
What do we pay and when?
First Non-refundable payment of 50% is due at the time of contract signing to secure your date officially.
Remainder is due one month before your wedding date.
Can we add extra hours once we are closer to the wedding?
Absolutely. It is pretty hard to know what your wedding day timeline will look like this far out. Often couples will add an hour or two a month before their wedding day.
Hours added before the wedding date: $700/hour
Hours added on site at the wedding: $900/hour
Editing! Explain your editing process Sofia.
First I take all your photos and cull them down to the useable. That is usually 10% of what I shoot on your day. From there I bring those images into Lightroom for editing. In this program I correct exposures, add or remove contrast, balance color temperatures and crop images.
From here your top 10% images (what I deem as the money shots of the day) will go into Photoshop. In here I will retouch and add some extra editing if need be.
When will we get our photos?
Your 1 month anniversary! Mark it down as a date night idea, get some wine ready and get ready to re-live your wedding day together.
Sneak peeks for elopements are handled on a case by case basis. We will chat about how you want to announce your elopement and are down to make an epic Instagram post tagging you in it if you like that idea!
Does Sofia edit our wedding photos?
You bet I do! I have tried outsourcing my editing many times and have came to the conclusion that my editing style is not something I would like done out of house. You can be sure knowing it is me working on all your files.
What areas do you NOT charge travel for?
We have a couple "home" base locations these days where we do not charge any travel to:
Calgary.
Hinton + Vancouver Island (Subject to Sofia's travel schedule)
How many photos do we get?
I aim to deliver roughly 35 images per hour of consecutive photography coverage although some weddings are a bit more than this. It really depends how fast paced the day is and how many family photos we are doing along many other factors.
You can expect no less than 35 X (Hours you purchased) in your final gallery.
What if we don't want to be posted on social media?
That is totally normal for some of my clients. We have NDA options for wedding couples at a fee if you would like to add this to your contract.
Most of my couples are very open to allowing me to use their images on social media. It is the BEST way to show off what I do to other couples still looking for a wedding photographer. That being said if there is a sensitive part of your wedding you'd prefer offline let's have a chat about it.
